Morgan State University

Student Services Building

Morgan State University’s (MSU) newly built Calvin and Tina Tyler Hall blends beautiful architecture with cutting edge technology to act as the entry for students and visitors to this historic campus. The 139,000 square foot facility houses the university’s student support departments including Admissions and Recruitment, Records and Registration, Community Service, Financial Aid, and general support offices.

Design & Integration was responsible for installing state of the art audiovisual systems throughout twenty-four rooms. Each room is expertly designed to enhance student and staff communication and facilitate interconnectivity throughout campus and beyond. The DI team provided technology solutions for multiple conference and community rooms, meeting rooms, a computer lab, a large recruitment room, and an atrium video wall.

System highlights include multiple NEC video walls within various conference rooms, the atrium, training room, and large recruitment room, with custom digital content created by our award-winning content department.  Additionally, the cutting-edge computer lab, conference, and community rooms offer quick presentation abilities with Crestron AirMedia wireless presentation systems, remote conferencing through Shure ceiling-mounted microphones and Vaddio PTZ cameras, QSC core Digital Signal Processing (DSP) for enhanced audio processing, and the option to record and stream lectures via the Panopto Video Capture and Streaming appliance within the larger presentation spaces.  Users are able to control these audiovisual elements through a custom-built graphical user interface on a Crestron Touchpanel and monitored through MSU’s Crestron Fusion Server.

The technology implemented in the Student Services Building will help to further Morgan State’s vision to “prepare diverse and competitive graduates for success in a global, interdependent society.”
