Inova Health System
Schar Cancer Institute
The Inova Schar Cancer Institute is a 420,000 square-foot cancer center, housing specialty equipment, multiple pharmacies, and clinic spaces concentrated on various cancers. It also has a large, prestigious lobby that receives an ample amount of foot-traffic from visitors, patients, and employees.
Design & Integration provided smooth demolition of a former video wall within the lobby, handling the old displays delicately and removing the original rigging hardware. Our team then installed a cutting-edge Planar TVF 1.8mm LED video wall, seamlessly replacing the outdated LCD wall. This state-of-the-art 8×8 array showcases a 16:9 image aspect ratio, enhancing the visual experience for patients and visitors.
DI also installed Holosonics directional ceiling loudspeakers as a catered solution to balancing the audio within the open space. With this solution, the audio associated with the visual content on the video wall was isolated within the area of the wall, and avoids interfering with the adjacent waiting room area. This assists the goal of providing patients with a calm, personalized experience within the center.
DI’s Creative Division also designs, curates, and manages custom content for the video wall on a monthly basis, showcasing a variety of notable awareness dates, encouraging messages, and aesthetic imagery. Our expertise in video walls and content creation and management ensures that Inova is maximizing their investment and providing onlookers with a peaceful and professional atmosphere.
