University of Maryland Eastern Shore

Pharmacy & Health Professions

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore recently constructed a 130,000 square-foot Pharmacy and Health Professions building to prepare future health care professionals and advocates for their respective field through interprofessional education, research, and service on the Eastern Shore.

Design & Integration provided state of the art audio-visual systems throughout various classrooms, labs, conference rooms, and a lecture hall. Several of these locations were equipped with Extron Crosspoint video switching and control, Extron room schedulers, and Epson projection and document cameras.

The University features a large lecture hall designed to accommodate a significant number of students and facilitate immersive learning experiences. Two projectors are strategically positioned to ensure optimal visibility from every seat in the room. Moreover, the lecture room is equipped with lecture capture capabilities. This technology enables instructors to record their lectures, capturing both the audio and visual components. Students can later access these recordings, providing them with the opportunity to review the material at their own pace and reinforce their learning.

Furthermore, the lecture room features an impressive Brahler microphone system comprising over 70 microphones. This comprehensive setup ensures that every student’s voice is captured clearly, regardless of where the speaker is positioned in the room. The microphone system enhances the overall learning experience, as it enables effective communication between the instructor and students during lectures, discussions, and presentations.
