Design & Integration, a premier technology integration contractor, is seeking a controller to oversee our high-performance team. The ideal candidate will have experience as an accountant, preferably in a senior role. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, this person will streamline our budgeting, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and financial reporting processes. The controller will also produce thorough financial-status reports for managers to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.
Responsibilities
- Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, organizational budgets and actual expenditures
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all departments, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation
- Manage employees who work under the controller in preparing financial reports, budgets and their respective duties
- Ensure that payroll and tax obligations are accurately and timely surrendered.
- Negotiate and manage insurances, sureties, and bonding requirements.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets and forecasts; as well as monthly/quarterly budget to actual comparisons; and understand when results differ.
- Ensure reported results are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles in the United States of America (U.S. GAAP).
- Keep up-to-date on the financial market to understand how to maximize profits and find new expansion areas
- Understand the financials of a company in order to meet legal requirements, related vulnerability and establish and/or maintain adequate internal controls, keeping the financial state in good standing
Required Skills & Experience
- Five or more years of professional accounting experience
- Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis
- Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting
- Experience in managing payroll, with focus on streamlining accounting processes
- Exemplary history of financial project management
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related field
- Five or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager
- Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant)
