Alexandria Presbyterian Church

Alexandria Presbyterian Church (APC) was founded in 1986 and has had an ever-growing congregation since. They recently decided to transition from leasing their space, to building a larger center from the ground up to adequately accommodate the continued expansion of their congregation. With this brand new and larger space of worship, came the need for audiovisual advancements to enhance their services and related activities throughout the building.

Design & Integration has fully equipped the church with state of the art audiovisual technology and a custom control system to aid in the expansion of their services. An NDI video distribution system was provided to all audio and video originating from the Fellowship Hall, Sanctuary, and digital players to be distributed to all display locations in the building. The Sanctuary includes two (2) 136” diagonal 1080p resolution video walls to the left and right of the main stage and a 98” LCD monitor located at the rear of the Sanctuary. Sources to the display include a wired HDMI input location in a stage box and wireless presentation capability for a laptop in the AV control room. Four HD PTZ cameras can be used for image magnification or live streaming/recording. An NDI switcher contains internal steaming capability, camera control, and can control and mix the camera from Fellowship Hall. The digital mixing console is controllable with an iPad, and controls an 8-channel wireless microphone system, digital audio player, recorder, wired boundary microphones, and a FM assistive listening system. Two Alcons column speakers and subwoofers are located on the sides of the stage opening installed seamlessly with the building architecture to be hidden from plain sight.

The Fellowship Hall includes a ceiling mounted projector and motorized front projection screen. Information can be presented on the projector via a HDMI input in a stage floor box and wireless presentation capability. A digital mixing console with iPad control can route audio from numerous floor boxes containing XLR input and output plates. A HD NDI PTZ camera allows for recording, live streaming, and campus wide distribution for events via the audio and video mixing system in the Sanctuary.

Also included in this project were thirteen classrooms equipped with a 75″ flat panel display utilizing a wired HDMI Input, Mersive Solstice for wireless presentation, and an NDI Decoder which can receive the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall live stream. The biggest classroom is equipped with an 82” display, a high definition PTZ camera with ceiling microphones to support wireless presentation soft codec. Finally, a Divisible Youth Room includes the functionality of a typical classroom, but with the addition of a 5.1 surround sound system.
