Project Manager – Baltimore, MD

We are seeking an experienced, high-performing Project Manager. This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of complex Audio Visual (AV), IT, and specialized technology integration projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will be a champion of process compliance, utilizing our standardized documentation (Status Reports, Readiness Checklists, Bottleneck Trackers) to drive efficiency and hold external parties accountable. The role requires proactive leadership and a focus on ensuring efficiency and client satisfaction.
Location: This is a full time, hybrid Project Manager role for projects based in Baltimore and surrounding area (field-based, managing local projects).
Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Management: Defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with clients and stakeholders. This includes developing detailed project plans, timelines, and schedules.
- Budget and Resource Management: Developing and managing project budgets, tracking costs, and ensuring financial targets are met. They also manage resource allocation, including internal technical personnel and external subcontractors/vendors.
- Client and Stakeholder Communication: Acting as the central point of contact for all internal and external communication. This involves consulting with clients, providing regular progress reports, addressing concerns, and ensuring overall client satisfaction.
- Technical Oversight and Quality Control: Possessing a strong technical knowledge of AV systems and ensuring installations meet industry standards, such as those set by AVIXA. This includes coordinating installation, programming, testing, and troubleshooting equipment.
- Risk and Change Management: Proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks. They also manage change orders to the project scope, budget, or timeline as necessary.
- Team Leadership and Coordination: Leading and motivating cross-functional teams of engineering and installation staff. They coordinate daily activities to ensure effective collaboration and a productive work environment.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensuring all project documentation, contracts, safety reports, and close-out documents are in place and comply with health and safety regulation.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience in the commercial Audio-Visual (AV), Security, or IT Systems Integration industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end project management, including comprehensive planning, resource allocation, critical path scheduling, and effective task delegation across engineering and field teams.
- Proven ability to proactively manage logistics and the procurement lifecycle, including expediting processes and confirming material delivery alignment with the master schedule (Procurement Validation Checkpoint).
- Strong technical knowledge is required concerning quality assurance practices, including Inspection protocols, change order validation, and systematic rework reduction strategies.
- Exceptional capacity for data synthesis and professional, data-driven written and verbal communication with clients, general contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to manage resources and project timelines within fast-paced, high-stakes commercial environments.
- Must have or be eligible to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
- A bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related technical field is strongly preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Direct experience in complex systems integration (AV, IT infrastructure, Security, Structured Cabling) is highly advantageous.
